M65 und M66 in Leo
Messier 65 + 66 are two members of the well-known Leo triplet. They are about the same distance apart (~30 million light years). M 65 is a classic barred spiral galaxy, M 66 is also a barred spiral, but with very active star formation and pronounced tidal tails at its northern end.
