Eastern Veil Nebula (NGC 6992)
NGC 6992 (Caldwell 33), together with NGC 6960 (Caldwell 33) and NGC 6995, is part of the Cygnus Loop, a remnant of a supernova explosion about 15’000 years ago. As the shockwave of this cosmic blast collides with interstellar material, it is ionized and is emitting light.
